It is with immense pride that I announce the 8th State-Level Inter-Collegiate/Inter-University Vishwanath Sports Meet 2025, organized by MIT-ADT University, Pune. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s timeless words, “Our country needs a few strong men with muscles of iron and nerves of steel,” I have always believed in the transformative power of sports to shape individuals and build a stronger nation. 

My father, Rashtradharmapujak Shri Dadaorao Karad, instilled in me a deep reverence for sports and service to our country. To honour his legacy, we have been organizing state-level wrestling competitions at his birthplace, Rameshwar, since 2007. Our annual Varkari Mahavir Kusti during Ashadi Ekadashi in Wakhari, Pandharpur, exemplifies our commitment to preserving traditional sports while fostering a sense of community and devotion. Sports have been central to MIT Group of Institution’s ethos since 1998, when we inaugurated the red clay mud wrestling akhada at MIT College of Engineering, with blessings from Hindkesari Shri Ganpatrao Andalkar and Yog-Guru Shri Shelar Mama.

I remain committed to promoting physical fitness and yoga at this age, inspiring young minds to embrace sports and true sportsmanship. The Vishwanath Sports Meet 2025 builds on this vision, emphasizing health awareness and providing a stage for athletes to excel. I invite you to join us in celebrating the spirit of sports, unity and a healthier future. Together, let’s make the 7th Vishwanath Sports Meet 2025 a beacon of hope and opportunity for Indian sports.
